University of Miami is represented in the collegiate football program by the Miami Hurricanes football team. Governed by the NCAA, the team is a part of the Atlantic Coast Conference, which is a Division I Bowl Subdivision conference. In the year 1926, the program started and since then it had the winningest program for the past quarter century. Currently, the home games are being played at Dolphin Stadium which is located in Miami Gardens, Florida. And presently, the team is coached by Randy Shannon, the sixth African-American head coach in Division I-A college football during the hiring.
